I don’t understand why every adult person of USA and Canada do not take subscription of My WorldPlus discount card.Ignoring this opportunity appears to me as an unnecessary and shameful waste of opportunity. It is like denying an offer by which you are bound to gain. It is like turning your back to an opportunity where you can’t lose. I wish I lived in that area!

What could be the reason of this foolishness! I wonder! It must be lack of knowledge that such opportunity exist! Yes, must be it. Only this justifies the unnecessary waste of the opportunity. Otherwise who in the world would ever deny to an opportunity that can save and make several thousands of dollars per year guaranteed!

So, what is “MyWorldPlus” discount Card anyway! and what opportunity exactly it might give to you if you subscribe MyWorldPlus! Well, it is not an opportunity, it is ‘opportunities’. Subscription of MyWorldPlus offers dual opportunities. But before I disclose the opportunities I like to tell you upfront the cost of MyWorldPlus. No. It is not to warn you about the cost involved. I just want to mention about the cost, so that it becomes easier to me to prove the advantages over the cost.

Some of you who operate a home business have submitted profiles of your business to me. That process essentially involved answering a set list of questions and sending me your responses by email. For those profiles I approved, the home business profile was placed on the Home Business Profiles page.

Of course, technology has improved since then. If you’ve never submitted your home business profile the old way, you still can. However, now there’s an even better way to do it, by way of a new feature on About.com called “Show and Tell”.

The Show and Tell feature allows you to tell your story, include a link to your home business site or blog and even upload a photo or two – maybe of yourself, your logo, or whatever is appropriate for your story.

Even if you’ve already submitted your home business profile the old-fashioned way, you’re still welcome to tell your story with Show and Tell. And if you haven’t submitted info on your home business yet, now you have an even better way to do it.

Just go to the Tell Us About Your Home Business page and click the Submit a Home Business Entry link to complete the form.

All submissions are moderated by me and are subject to approval. All submissions must be in English. Otherwise, all you need to do is follow the instructions on the form.

To see the entries that have already been approved, click the See Published Submissions button near the upper right of the form page. I submitted an entry for my own home business to get the ball rolling so you’ll get an idea of what your entry will look like once it’s approved.

It’s a great way to get your home business in front of other people, and also an opportunity for you to tell us how you did it and offer advice to others who are thinking about starting a business.

Image for Guide to Freelancing Post

Freelancing is one way to work from home and start earning money fast without getting hung up in a lot of preparation and planning, like you would if you were going to start a full-blown home business.

As a freelancer, you offer services in which you’re already skilled.

Examples include:

  • Freelance writers
  • Freelance web designers
  • Freelanace graphic artists
  • Freelance programmers

And more.

One of the advantages of freelance work is that there are a number of freelance network sites out there that match up employers with freelancers. The one I’m most experienced with is Guru.com, and over the years it has provided several jobs for me.

As an affiliate marketer you are bombarded with recommendations about what you MUST do in order to succeed in the affiliate marketing world.

These recommendations (commandments, orders?) come in abundant numbers from every corner of the Internet. And they come relentlessly every day of the week. Mind boggling!

If you tried to implement every new “YOU MUST” recommendation into your affiliate marketing business each day, you’d need a 48-hour day!

Here at Affiliate Classroom we operate on the premise that the K.I.S.S (Keep It Simple Silly) principle is always the best policy. That doesn’t mean that we think the easiest way is the best way…it rarely is…but we do always try to un-complicate the process needed to reach a desired objective.

We’ve discovered that in affiliate marketing sometimes knowing what NOT TO DO is just as important (and often more important) than knowing exactly what TO DO.

With that in mind, we’re starting a five part series, “5 Not-to-dos for Affiliate Marketers” beginning Monday.

Stay tuned!

NOTE: Even though Lurn, Inc. receives compensation for products and services promoted in our blog posts, we always give our honest opinions, findings, beliefs, or experiences about those products and services.

Are local governments shutting down home based Independent Contractor positions?

Government entities (state and Federal) have a vested interest in making sure as many people as possible are classified as “employees”.  That makes sure

1) Withholding taxes are collected for state and federal income taxes “off the top” from the employer.

2) Social Security and Medicare taxes are collected “off the top” from the employer.

3) State unemployment trust funds collect money from a larger base of employees.

Having said that, this comment makes sense.

We already know that Amazon.com and Zappos.com don’t allow residents from Rhode Island and North Carolina to participate in their affiliate programs because of these states’ attempts to line their pockets.

It was unsolicited and attempts to contact the sender were not successful. But if this is correct, you can tell why…

So take this for what it’s worth. It may be true.

Mark wrote:

Because of changing state laws and changing enforcement by state and federal agencies against Independent Contractors, Liveops isn’t a good bet for now.  Liveops classifies agents as Independent Contractors which is getting harder to do as the state and federal government are going after IC’s to get the extra tax revenue.

Liveops canceled all contracts in New Hampshire without warning in December of 2009.  This will be happening more and more as different states change their laws or increase enforcement against wrongly classified Independent Contractors.

Liveops is also changing many internal policies in an attempt to continue saying agents are IC’s.  Being able to say we are IC’s vs employees is a big money saver for LO.  Many agents are getting let go without any clear reason  becasue LO is afraid to control the work that we do or tell us what the criteria is for keeping our jobs.  Generally, to be considered an IC by the IRS, the bossman can’t exert control over the worker or tell the worker how to do the job.  The bossman can only measure the result of the completed job.

This is making the working conditions very poor and agents don’t know when suddenly they’ll get an email saying they’ve been let go!  Don’t count on LO for regular income.
